ELM HILL

Elm Hill is one of the most famous streets in Norwich. It is the most complete remaining medieval street in the city. Almost everything was destroyed by a fire in 1507 but the buildings were rebuilt. In the present day, this is a charming cobbled street containing speciality shops and small cafes. Elm Hill was originally named after the elm trees that surrounded the street, but now only one remains- see if you can spot it!

Fun fact! At the top of Elm Hill, you can find the imprint of a computer keyboard in the concrete. This is an interesting find creating a juxtaposition between modern technology and a medieval street.
